Fr. Michael Osatofoh Eninlejie, MSP - Homily for Thursday Week 27 Ordinary time - October 8, 2020

GOD DOES NOT REFUSE US ANYTHING

Many of us Christians have become discouraged in asking God for one thing or the other. We think that God will not answer us.
In the gospel reading of today, Jesus answered 2 major questions. First is that we are sometimes not very convincing in asking for what we need. We easily give up on God. But Jesus tells us today to continue to persist in prayers. Our prayers may be answered due to our persistence.
Secondly, it is good for us to understand also that it is not everything we ask of God that we must receive. As children, we asked for many things from our parents and they did not give us because they knew that we did not need those things. This doesn't mean that God does not love us anymore. We pray for the grace to remain steadfast in prayer. God help us. Amen.
